2012 Notice Of Race

6th Annual Buzzelli Multihull Rendezvous
33rd Stiletto Nationals

October 18-21, 2012
Sarasota, Florida


1. Rules
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
2. Eligibility
  • The regatta is open to any multihull sailboat
  • A minimum of 5 boats make a class
  • Expected: Stiletto, Corsair, Farrier, Formula, Gulfstream, G-Cat, Hobie, Nacra, Reynolds; One-design: Formula 18, Hobie Wave, Weta, WindRider
3. Registration & Fees
  • Registration through website BuzzelliMR.com or contact Regatta Organizer Nana Bosma at 941-306-7776 or Nana@U-Boat.US
  • Stilettos Nationals $ 120
  • All Others $ 100
  • $ 20 discount for entries received and paid by 1700 on October 8, 2012
  • Registration fee includes one shirt, one hat, and one Saturday dinner.
4. Ratings & Class Rules
  • Boats must have a valid one-design, class, Portsmouth, or WF/PHRF rating.
  • Rating applications and renewals need to be received by 1700 on October 5, 2012.
5. Venue & Courses
  • Landside activities will be at Sarasota Sailing Squadron, 1717 Ken Thompson Pkwy, Sarasota, FL 34236
  • Courses will be sailed on Sarasota Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, conditions dependent.
  • Course descriptions will be posted on the official notice board.
  • Friday race will be long distance with start and finish near the Sarasota Sailing Squadron, a required race for Stiletto Nationals only.

Saturday, October 20
0800-0915 Check-in & on-site registration
0930 Skippers briefing
1100 Warning signal
Sunday, October 21
1030 Warning signal
1500 No warning signal after this time
Prizes presented as soon as possible after racing

7. Sailing Instructions
SIs will be available at check-in.

8. Scoring
  • The scoring for the Stiletto Nationals will be based on an aggregate of races from Friday through Sunday.
  • The scoring for the complete fleet will be based on an aggregate of races on Saturday and Sunday.

9. Prizes
Prizes will be awarded according the number of participants in each class.
10. Disclaimer of Liability
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk.  See RRS 4, Decision to Race.  Neither the organizers or the host organization will accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
